The investigation into the death of the 18-year-old young man from Córdoba, Álvaro Prieto, whose body was located this Monday between two train cars in the workshop area of the Santa Justa railway station, in Seville, pointed to electrocution as the main hypothesis about the causes of his death. The location of Prieto's body, which had disappeared four days before in that area, was announced by TVE, which broadcast some images in which part of the corpse was seen and for which they have apologized after the controversy generated.

The train where the body of the young man from Córdoba, Álvaro Prieto, was found had not been in service since last August 24, according to Renfe, which stated that the vehicle was damaged and during these days "it has not made any movement nor has it been subjected to to any inspection or maintenance". As revealed by El Diario de Sevilla, the surveillance cameras at a gas station near the Santa Justa station provide details of the last moments alive of the Córdoba footballer, missing since October 12 after missing a train he had planned to take in Santa Justa. to return to Córdoba.

The images captured show Prieto on the roof of a train, where, finally, his lifeless body was found. The recording reveals that the young man tried to take a train after missing his own and crossing the tracks, but he ended up being electrocuted when coming into contact with the catenary.

The Institute of Legal Medicine will perform an autopsy today on the body of young Álvaro Prieto.

According to the images, Prieto was holding onto the catenary, which resulted in an electric shock that made him fall between the train cars. Tragically, no one realized his situation until a TVE team broadcasting the search for Prieto captured and broadcast images of his fatal accident.

The first forensic examination indicates that the young man was subjected to a shock of 3,500 volts, putting an end to the intense search that had kept the community in suspense for days.

According to the testimonies of family and friends, Álvaro had bought a ticket to return to Córdoba on a train that left early on Thursday morning, and, with almost no battery in his cell phone, the last message he sent to his parents, at 7:20 a.m., it was to inform them that I was on my way to the station.

However, he did not arrive in time to catch that train. He did not have cash or battery in his cell phone to buy another ticket, so he tried to get on an AVE to Barcelona and stop in Córdoba. To do this he jumps the tracks, although the station staff notices, intercepts him and prevents him from getting on the car.

His last living image is the one taken by the Santa Justa cameras leaving the station towards Kansas City Avenue, a very long road that is the road exit from Seville towards Córdoba. Since Álvaro leaves the station he loses track of him. Having no news of him, his parents report the case to the Police, who begin an investigation and classify the case as a "disturbing disappearance", taking into account the circumstances and profile of the young man, a good student with no apparent problems.

What seemed clear was that it was not a voluntary disappearance. As a result of the complaint, the SOS Desaparecidos association spreads its image and the first alleged clues begin to arrive, such as that of a woman who claims to have seen a young man with the clothes that Álvaro was wearing, beige pants and a green shirt, around 10:30 a.m. hours down Kansas City Avenue.

One of the unknowns is what Álvaro did when he left the station. His mother told a radio station that he could have hitchhiked to get to Córdoba and that something would have been done to him. Another hypothesis was that of an accident, although it was strange that the body did not appear. Or even that of a kidnapping. There was also speculation that he accessed the area of the tracks to try to get on a train again.

Since the complaint was filed on Thursday, the National Police has been pulling all the strings and searching both the area around the station and Kansas City Avenue, and checking the security cameras on that street. His friends and teammates from the Córdoba soccer team even suggested organizing a search to look for him, something that the Police advised against.

This Sunday there was a penultimate episode of the search for Álvaro when at nine at night an area surrounding the station was cordoned off so that members of the Military Emergency Unit (UME) could search an area of the tracks with specialized dogs. This Monday the search device was going to continue near the area searched yesterday, in a train maintenance area just over a kilometer from the station. The program "Mañaneros" (TVE) recorded a train that was moving and broadcast images in which a body appeared trapped between two train cars. It was the corpse of Álvaro Prieto, with the same clothes he was wearing the day he disappeared.
