A premature gorilla is born in a North American zoo

At the Fort Worth Zoo, located in a town in Dallas, in the United States, they cannot stop being amazed. Jameela has just been born, a baby gorilla who was born prematurely because her mother, Sekani, showed signs of preeclampsia, a complication derived from blood pressure that can also occur during human pregnancy.

This forced the center's veterinarians to perform an emergency cesarean section. The little one weighed just under a kilo but is growing quickly due to the care she receives from the zoo's team of professionals.

His mother, Sekani, has also fully recovered from the accidental birth and has needed special care. Jameela, the name they gave the baby gorilla, means “beautiful” in Swahili.
