A Mossos agent removed from service in Lleida for alleged cocaine trafficking

An agent of the Mossos d'esquadra of Lleida was charged and removed from service for being related to an alleged crime of cocaine trafficking, according to the newspaper 'Segre' and police sources have confirmed.

The agent was discovered following the arrest of a Lleida resident for drug trafficking in June of last year.

When analyzing the individual's phone, the police detected WhatsApp conversations with other people for the purchase and sale of drugs, of which one was a police officer.

The internal affairs division took charge of the investigation that ended with the agent being charged. He has also suspended him from work and salary pending the resolution of the trial, although this measure could not be applied to him because he is on sick leave.

The case is being handled by Court of Instruction number 1 of Lleida and the agent is expected to testify in the coming weeks along with other people. He will do so as investigated for a crime against public health.
