Yesterday a man shot a woman, who was slightly injured, and subsequently committed suicide in the Madrid town of Torrejón de Ardoz, sources from Emergencies 112 have informed Efe.
The events occurred around 7:30 p.m. inside a home on Río Torote Street in Torrejón, where a 33-year-old man shot the 31-year-old woman and then proceeded to commit suicide with the same weapon.
Apparently the man fired a first shot at the woman, who according to initial investigations was his partner, but missed. A second shot wounded the woman in the hand, who took refuge in a room, at which point he committed suicide, according to police sources.
Upon arriving at the scene, the Summa troops treated the woman, who had a gunshot wound to her hand, and transferred her in a minor condition to the Torrejón Hospital. Regarding the man, they have only been able to confirm her death.
Members of the judicial and scientific police have also traveled to the scene.
