The National Police has arrested a man in Alzira, whom a court has ordered to be imprisoned, for firing several times in the street, while intoxicated, a firearm whose projectiles hit a parked vehicle, and days before, threatening to kill his ex-partner and a family acquaintance with a gun.

The man, 48 years old and of Spanish origin, was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of illicit possession of weapons, damage, threats and mistreatment, according to the National Police Corps in a statement.

The police intervention began when agents from the Local Citizen Security Brigade, who were carrying out prevention and security tasks in the municipality, were commissioned to the scene.

According to witnesses, this man fired a firearm several times while he was intoxicated, the projectiles hitting a vehicle parked on one of the streets of the aforementioned municipality.

When the agents arrived, and after multiple searches through the area without locating the alleged perpetrator, since he had fled the scene after the shooting, they verified that a car parked on the street where the detonations occurred had two bullet holes.

The projectiles had fractured the rear window, passing through the headrest and the passenger seat to impact the front area of ​​the vehicle, and could be recovered by the agents of the Local Scientific Police Brigade.

After multiple investigations carried out by the Local Judicial Police Brigade, it was possible to identify the alleged perpetrator of the events, who had allegedly threatened to kill, days before, his former romantic partner and a family acquaintance, with a caliber pistol. 9 millimeters Parabellum.

Due to all of the above, and based on the protection device that was deployed around the victims of the threats, a police search was established aimed at the arrest of the alleged perpetrator of the events, with the arrest materializing the next day.

Several searches were also carried out on the detainee's properties in which 3,570 euros in banknotes and two prohibited weapons were seized: a large knife and an extendable defense. The detainee, with a police record, has been brought to judicial custody where his provisional entry into prison has been ordered.
