The Mossos d'Esquadra have denounced a 44-year-old man on a farm in Pla de Santa Maria (Alt Camp) for illegally transporting three lambs in breach of various public health and animal welfare regulations during their transport.
The agents followed the vehicle and witnessed how it entered a livestock farm and minutes later it left with three lambs tied to the legs with ropes inside a metal trailer, stretched out on the ground, in totally inadequate conditions.
In addition, the driver turned out to be the owner of the livestock farm that had several deficiencies and of which he did not prove its legality, nor san tolo of the registry of the animals located inside it.
Given the high risk that these lambs would be slaughtered on a regular basis, endangering public health, the agents released and preserved that the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda determine their final destination, as well as that of the livestock farm itself.
