A female lynx walks through a town in Albacete and they ask the neighbors to leave her "calm"

The provincial delegate of Sustainable Development of the Government of Castilla-La Mancha in the province of Albacete, Llanos Valero, has asked the residents of Munera (Albacete) that if the Iberian lynx seen in the town on the weekend returns to the municipality leave her "quiet" so that she does not remain in the urban area.

A Local Police patrol recorded the female Iberian lynx this Sunday while it was walking through the town of Albacete and the video has gone viral on mobile messaging programs and social networks.

In statements to EFE, Llanos Valero has asked the residents of Munera to leave the female "calm", so that she does not remain in the urban area "for the good of the animal and so that she can be in the natural environment without problems."

When the specimen was seen walking through Munera, environmental agents moved to the area. She is a young female, approximately one year old, who they believe comes from the Iberian lynx family of Ciudad Real, due to proximity.

Valero has specified that with the images captured, the veterinarians of the Iberian Lynx reintroduction program in the Peninsula will verify if it is indeed a member of that family given that "by not having a collar this is the way to have control."
