This weekend, nearly 80,000 people turned the third edition of 'Viu Montjuïc' into a great success with the public, who enjoyed more than 60 cultural and leisure activities for all audiences: from guided itineraries around Montjuïc to shows. dance, theater, concerts, exhibitions and open doors to the park's facilities.

The Councilor for Culture and Creative Industries, Xavier Marcé, has highlighted that the good reception of the activity “confirms the central role of Montjuïc in the cultural, sporting and recreational imagination of the city. "The great participation," he adds, "shows that it is a city space fully assimilated by citizens."

For her part, the councilor of the Sants-Montjuïc district, Raquel Gil, has confirmed that “citizens have once again made clear their interest in enjoying the park's cultural offering and Viu Montjuïc is now a consolidated showcase to show all the activity. that the equipment does throughout the year."

During the weekend, the facilities that received a greater influx of public were Poble Espanyol, with 30,000 attendees; the castle of Montjuïc, with 19,000; the CaixaForum, with 5,700; The Joan Miró Foundation with 4,700 and the Mies van der Rohe Foundation with 3,500.

The different programmed itineraries have also met with a very good popular response: Talking with plants organized by the Free Teatre Foundation, the Montjuïc cemetery and the Ethnological and World Cultures Museum; The art of walking, the result of the collaboration between the MNAC and the castle of Montjuïc; or the inaugural Montjuïc 360º itinerary (in which more than 200 people have participated), the first trail approved by the Federation of Excursionist Organizations of Catalonia (FEEC) that runs entirely within the city of Barcelona and forms part of the Master Plan of Camins del Parc de Montjuïc prepared by Barcelona City Council.

Viu Montjuïc was born from the desire to coordinate the different cultural operators of Montjuïc and is co-organized and financed by the same facilities, by the Sants-Montjuïc district, the Barcelona Institute of Culture and the Fourth Tenancy of Economy, Finance, Economic Promotion and Tourism, which, through the tourist tax, promotes initiatives to improve leisure and enjoy a quality green and cultural public space aimed especially at the residents of Barcelona.

The first edition of Viu Montjuïc was held in October 2021, with the aim of becoming an annual event and serving as a starting signal for future collaborations and synergies between mountain operators. The call was attended by 37,000 people.

The second edition, which was held in October 2022, practically doubled the attendance, with more than 60,000 people enjoying the cultural and leisure activities proposed.
