What Windows applications and programs to delete first to have more space?

Computers with the Windows operating system include by default a long list of applications that are installed on the devices. Some of them belong to Microsoft, while others correspond to third parties that pay to appear within Windows. Until relatively recently, these pre-installed applications could not be removed.

However, Microsoft has recently introduced an update to Windows that allows you to uninstall applications, driven by the Digital Markets Act. This not only allows you to fully customize the functionalities of your computer and its application menu, but you will also be able to save space on your devices by getting rid of all those apps that you do not need or use.

To consult the complete list of applications that are part of your Windows 11, you can access 'Settings', then click on 'Applications' and finally go to 'Installed applications'. Once here, you can left-click on the icon of any app you don't want and press the uninstall option.

The applications that you should uninstall in Windows will largely depend on which ones you use and which ones you don't, something very personal. For example, there will be those who are loyal to Microsoft OneNote, while others will turn to other tools to organize and write notes. The same thing happens with Paint, a legendary app that some use for entertainment, shaping artistic projects or performing format conversions in documents and editing photographs. However, other users will consider it essential.

Aside from these considerations, it is true that there are a series of applications that could be classified as unnecessary and obsolete, which makes them the perfect candidates to be uninstalled if they get in the way, you are trying to organize your computer or you need storage space.

Among them we could point to Microsoft To Do, since there are much more efficient apps on the market to organize tasks. Movies and Television is not that useful either, taking into account that we usually resort to other more complete and popular streaming services.

The Xbox Live app is totally unnecessary for users who do not play this game console. You can also do without News and Weather, since Microsoft hasn't updated them in years. Likewise, Cortana is now deprecated and cannot be used, so there is little point in keeping it. Finally, the Mail, Calendar and People applications are now combined by the new Outlook, so they are not as necessary.

Now, don't worry if you uninstall an application and miss it later. You can always reinstall it from the Microsoft Store, which is also necessary to keep other downloaded applications updated.
