Tour de France 2023 | Schedule, route and where to watch stage 16 on TV

The 2023 Tour de France enters its final stretch. After the second rest day, the cyclists will have to face two high mountain stages and an uphill time trial, which will take place this Tuesday. On stage 16, the riders will travel 22.4 kilometers through the alpine mountains, with a final ascent to the second-category Domardy level, 2.5 kilometers at 9.4%, with ramps above 15%.

It's all to say. Vingegaard (Jumbo Visma) and Pogacar (UAE Emirates) arrive at the volcanic zone almost tied. Between them, only ten seconds apart. The Dane gave the Slovenian time in the first Pyrenean stage and Pogacar returned the scratches in the second and in the Puy de Dôme.

The Slovenian celebrates the fact of going "only" ten seconds behind the leader, and warns from his rest hotel about the importance of the time trial and Wednesday's climb to Col de la Loze. He is convinced that "in the time trial there will be differences", but everything will be decided in the two subsequent mountain stages.

While Vingegaard and Pogacar fight for the yellow jersey, Carlos Rodríguez will fight to keep third place overall. The objective: to put Spanish cycling back on the podium in Paris next Sunday.

In the time trial of stage 16 of the Tour de France 2023, the cyclists will travel 22.4 kilometers through the Alpine mountains, with a final ascent to the second-category Domardy level, 2.5 kilometers at 9.4%, with ramps above 15%. The day, which will start this Tuesday, July 18 at 1:05 p.m., can be seen on television on RTVE and Eurosport and can also be followed on the La Vanguardia website.
