The 2023 Tour de France peloton faces what for many is the queen stage, one day after having sought the limits in the demanding Combloux time trial. The cyclists will travel the 165.7 kilometers between Saint-Gervais and Courchevel, a new mountain day that Tadej Pogacar clings to to continue having options in the general classification.

In stage 17, the 5,000 meters of positive slope are exceeded, crossing the Col de Salises, with 13.4 kilometers at 5.1%; that of Roselend, 19.9 kilometers at 6%; and the most modest of Longefoy, 6.6 kilometers at 7.5%.

Pogacar is forced to attack after Vingegaard's display in the Combloux time trial, in which he took a 1.48-minute lead overall, while Carlos Rodríguez left his third podium place to Adam Yates.

"I couldn't do more, I was at full throttle, it hasn't been my best day, but the Tour hasn't finished. It has given me a lot of time, we're going to try to recover it. But it's clear that it will be much tougher than last year. But I have given everything", assured the UAE cyclist.

In stage 17 of the 2023 Tour de France, the cyclists will travel 165.7 kilometers between Saint-Gervais and Courchevel, Pogocar's last chance to fight for the gala round. The event, which will start this Wednesday, July 19 at 12:20 p.m., can be seen on television on RTVE and Eurosport and can also be followed on the La Vanguardia website.
