On Valentine's Day, the Zurich Marató Barcelona presents its new t-shirt for 2024. Through a public vote that obtained a total of more than 10,000 votes through the event's official social networks, it has been chosen to dress the and the runners at the great running festival in the Catalan capital a design from among three options. Three proposals presented by three different students from LABASAD, a Barcelona design school specialized in Online Masters in Design, Creativity and Photography.
The design selected among the three finalist candidates was, with 36.4% of the votes, that of Esteban Plazibat, an Argentine student on the LABASAD illustration master's degree. Plazibat was previously selected as one of the three final designs, the result of this collaboration between his educational center and the organization, an initiative that had the purpose of creating the t-shirt for the 45th Zurich Marató Barcelona.
Initially, the designer explains that he was inspired by the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and the marathons of the 80s and 90s in the United States to give the shirt a geometric style. But, finally, the main inspiration for the chosen design of the t-shirt was Barcelona architecture, with its modernist style carried out by Antoni Gaudí.
The 2024 t-shirt wants to be a tribute to the iconic and monumental buildings that the new route that the Zurich Marató Barcelona passes through will debut on March 10, leaving the Arc de Triomf on the right side of the t-shirt because it is the objective, the goal to reach. In addition, to remove rigidity from the design and add symbolism, elasticity and movement, a modern-style runner and the year, 2024, were added so that the renewal of the circuit is remembered.
In short, the winning design will make the t-shirt a good gift for the participants of the Zurich Marató Barcelona 2024 on March 10. This will be delivered with the runner's bag to the participants when they come to pick up their number at the Runner's Fair (Expo Sports) at Fira de Barcelona (Hall 7) on March 8 and 9 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
