The Valencian Government praises women's sports in its October 9 awards

The new Valencian Government made up of PP and Vox has wanted to praise women's sports in the delivery of the awards that will be given on the occasion of the celebration of October 9, day of the Valencian Community.

Thus, the most important recognition - the High Distinction of the Generalitat and the Grand Cross of the Order of Jaume I - has been for the Valencian players of the Spanish Soccer Team, Ivana Andrés Sanz and Enith Salón Marcuello. In addition, the members of the Spanish rhythmic gymnastics team Mireia Martínez López, Patricia Pérez Fos, Alba Bautista Cañas and Pôlina Berezina Ksenofontova and the coach of the individual national rhythmic gymnastics team, Marta Linares García, have been recognized with the Distinction of Cultural Merit.

The spokesperson for the Consell, Ruth Merino, who reported on the awards this Friday, pointed out that the Valencian Executive wanted to "dignify and value women's sport" beyond the milestones achieved such as the victory in the World Cup. Merino has defended that "equality between men and women is one of the basic principles and roadmap" of the Executive chaired by Carlos Mazón and that he understands that these types of awards "dignify the figure of women."

The Consell has appointed the comedian, actor and presenter Carlos Latre as Ambassador of the Valencian Community and has awarded distinctions for cultural merit to Nino Bravo (posthumously) and the Social Security group.
