This Friday morning the 5th edition of the Golden Cup Badalona Regatta was presented at the Barcelona International Boat Show, a reference event in the nautical sector and the world of sailing regattas that, during the weekend of the 27th On October 29, the city of Badalona will be its epicenter. This will be the first time that the regatta is organized exclusively by Marina Badalona, which means that both the departures and arrivals of the regattas and all the events surrounding the event will take place at the facilities of the Port of Badalona.
The Golden Cup Badalona is a high altitude regatta with a two-race format, a 60/70 nautical mile regatta (Baetulo Regatta) and another 15/20 nautical mile regatta (Hotel Marina Badalona Regatta). These two regattas constitute two trophies, so the team that obtains the best combined result in both regattas will be the winner of the Golden Cup Marina Badalona. It should be noted that this cup is worth scoring for the High Altitude, Solitaire and A2 Championships, and for the Altura Regatta Circuit.
The presentation of the test this Friday morning at the Barcelona International Boat Show facilities was attended by the mayor of Badalona, Xavier Garcia Albiol; of the deputy mayors Juan Fernández, Cristina Agüera and Rosa del Amo; from Imanol Sanz, manager of Marina Badalona; and Andrés Oliva, technical director of the test.
Mayor Xavier Garcia Albiol has highlighted the importance of the event in the nautical sector and has pointed out that “it will allow all sailing lovers to enjoy the city and the great facilities we have in the port of Badalona and, at the same time , so that residents can come and learn more about this sport and make the city's maritime façade their own. «For the municipal government it is a great pride that the Golden Cup is held in the city, since we work to make this type of large events, both in the sporting, social and cultural fields, become increasingly common in the city. our municipality and make Badalona a city of reference," said Mayor Garcia Albiol.
