The Premier removes betting advertising from shirts

Premier League clubs have agreed to remove bookmaker advertising from the front of their shirts from the 2025-2026 season.

The Premier League made this decision in a meeting with the clubs two weeks ago, but will not implement it until the 2025-2026 season to allow clubs to end existing bookmaker contracts.

As many as eight Premier League teams have a bookmaker as their main sponsor, six of them long-term, while Fulham and Newcastle United end their commitments this year.

Clubs will be able to continue displaying advertising for this type of business on other parts of the kits, such as on the sleeves, as well as on stadium billboards, for example.

The Premier has reached this agreement voluntarily before the Government undertakes a review of the relationship between gambling and sport, to try to minimize the negative impact that this has on society.
