The Bucks convince Antetokounmpo with 186 million

The Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo, star of the Milwaukee Bucks, reached an agreement this Monday with the Milwaukee Bucks to extend his contract for three more seasons, until 2027, for a total of 186 million dollars, according to the 'ESPN' network.

Antetokounmpo, double NBA MVP (2019-2020) and champion in 2021, will have a player option for the 2027-2028 season, according to the source cited. The 28-year-old Greek had a valid contract with the Bucks until the end of this season, which starts this Tuesday.

The Athens native, who averaged 31.1 points, 11.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game last year with the Bucks, has played in Milwaukee since 2013. This year he joins a franchise that was reinforced with Damian Lillard, added from the Portland Trail Blazers , and starts as one of the favorites in the ring.

Giannis thus closes the long series of speculations about his future, which he himself fueled in recent months by saying that "it made no sense" to sign a contract extension.

On the other hand, the Memphis Grizzlies extended the contract of Spanish Santi Aldama until 2025 this Monday, the franchise reported in a statement. Aldama, 22, averaged nine points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game last season with the Grizzlies and has been one of the most positive players this preseason. The Spaniard will debut in the new NBA season on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Chosen with number 30 in the first round of the 2021 draft, Aldama played 109 games with the Tennessee franchise. Last year he played 77 games and shot 47% from the field and 35% from three.
