Sao Paulo fires a player accused of threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend

Sao Paulo announced this Friday that it terminated its contract with striker Pedrinho, who played for the Brazilian team on loan from Russian Lokomotiv, after the publication of messages on social networks in which he threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend Amanda Nunes.

Pedro Gabriel Pereira Lopes, who had been in the ranks of Sao Paulo since January, had already been preventively removed from training on March 2, when Nunes filed a complaint with the Police for the attacks and threats he claimed to suffer from his ex-partner.

Sao Paulo, in a statement, explained that it decided to terminate the contract definitively "after a judicious and detailed evaluation carried out by the Legal and Regulatory Compliance departments in light of the known facts about the case involving the footballer."

The decision came after some sports portals published this week the messages that the striker exchanged with his ex-girlfriend on a social network and in which the threats, including death, are explicit.

The São Paulo club had taken a preventive measure while waiting for the Civil Police to announce the results of their investigations, but the disclosure of the messages made it clear that the footballer lied when he denied that he had threatened Nunes.

In the complaint that he filed in March for alleged gender violence, threats, insults and bodily injury, Nunes alleged that, after an argument, the 23-year-old striker threw his cell phone at her, tore the blouse she was wearing and threw her shirt in the trash. makeup and bag.

He added that, after the breakup of the engagement, he accepted an invitation from Pedrinho to try to reconcile but that at the meeting the soccer player told him that "she was a whore like her friends" and threatened to kill him, in addition to giving him "punches" in the face and back.

She also said that, after the new argument, her ex-boyfriend took her to a parking lot and that he asked her to have a sexual relationship, which she refused, at which time the physical attacks were repeated.
