Away from complexities and a gimmicky style, Luis Miguel Ramis has opted since his arrival on the Espanyol bench to simplify the team's game, which was more elaborate during Luis García's time. Adding is more important to him than how, but he does not give up being a protagonist in the games, but rather varies the way he does so. This proposal, much more pragmatic, harms more technical profiles, but benefits many other players. And that sector of the workforce has not been slow to raise its voice.
First it was Leandro Cabrera who pointed out Ramis's proposal as “more familiar.” Afterwards, Brian Oliván assured that “it's not that I was far from my level before, but now I feel more liberated and I can exploit my qualities: reaching the baseline, centering from three quarters. I have more presence in the game.” Some words that could be supported by players like Gragera or Edu Expósito, with more prominence in recent weeks.
Ramis, for his part, does not see in the words of his players a spirit of contempt for Luis García's work. “No player compares this stage with that of Luis García,” he said at a press conference. But he is aware that “we perceive the will on a daily basis and the other day we saw it reflected. We are seeing some of the things we are working on and it is good news because it generates confidence”, although he is clear that each game will be very hard: “No one will give us anything, everything will cost a lot”, he assured.
Espanyol faces Alcorcón tomorrow, “a trap match” for the coach with the possibility of returning to the direct promotion positions. To do this, Ramis recovers both Javi Puado, the team's top scorer, and Keidi Bare and Pol Lozano, who were out of the team with physical problems in recent weeks.
