Juventus, forced to pay 9.7 million to Cristiano Ronaldo

After almost three years since Cristiano Ronaldo left Juventus, the Turin club will have to pay 9.7 million euros in back salary to the Portuguese star following the ruling of the arbitration board of the Italian Football Federation ( FIGC), as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The now Al Nassr player should have earned that amount during his three years in Italy after taxes and contributions. This is what has been determined by Gianroberto Villa, Roberto Sacchi and Leandro Cantamessa, the three federation arbitrators in charge of settling this financial dispute between the striker and the old lady.

The matter refers to monthly payments deferred by Juventus during the covid pandemic, which were then never paid to Ronaldo. The amount could be higher due to late payment interest. The Portuguese hired the services of lawyers John Shehata, Emanuele Guastalla, Fabio Iudica and Salvatore Pino.

The forced payment to Ronaldo will also affect Juventus in budgetary terms, which in previous years had not reserved that amount in case of losing the appeal. It should be remembered that the Portuguese, after passing through Juventus, signed for Manchester United and since last season he has been at Al Nassr with a salary of around 200 million euros.
