Ibrahimovic, 41, returns to a Sweden squad

Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 41, has once again been included this Wednesday in a call-up for the Swedish soccer team, for the next qualifying matches for Euro 2024 against Belgium and Azerbaijan, after recovering from his long injury on your knees.

"Zlatan and I have kept in touch throughout this period during his injury. Now he feels good to contribute on the pitch. His personality and his experience can also contribute a lot to the squad. He is unique," said Sweden coach Jan Janne Andersson, presenting the list in Stockholm.

Andersson stressed, however, that he does not see Ibra as a starter, but with a role similar to the one he now has in Milan as a substitute who can leave for a few minutes.

Ibrahimovic had withdrawn from the national team at the end of Euro 2016, but returned five years later, although injuries prevented him from being in the Euro Cup and in the first qualifying matches for the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

Sweden's all-time top scorer took part in the final leg of qualifying, though Sweden were knocked out in the play-off against Poland.

The former player of Ajax, Juventus, Barcelona and Manchester United reappeared a few weeks ago after overcoming another new knee injury, which had kept him out for nine months.

Sweden, which is drawn in group F, will face Belgium on the 24th at the Friends Arena in Stockholm and, three days later, will host Azerbaijan at the same stadium. Mallorca defender Ludwig Augustinsson also appears on the Swedish list.
