Getafe accuses Bellingham of calling Greenwood a "rapist"

Getafe asked the LaLiga manager for the match against Real Madrid to include in the report an alleged disqualification of Jude Bellingham to Mason Greenwood during a match in the match played on Thursday at the Colium Stadium, with a final victory for the whites (0-2 ).

The controversy arose due to a video that went viral through social networks in which it showed the play in which the Real Madrid footballer supposedly called his compatriot a "rapist" ("rapist" in English) after the former cut an action by the blue winger. Getafe wants the facts to be investigated.

Greenwood, 22, joined the Madrid club last summer on loan from Manchester United after being off the field for a year and a half, accused of attempted rape, assault and "coercive and controlling conduct."

He was arrested in January 2022 after a friend of his ex-partner published a series of photos and videos on social networks in which she appeared with injuries allegedly caused by the footballer. He was released on bail, but United, a club in which he had played since he was six years old, decided to separate him until his situation was resolved. He also lost sponsorship from Nike and disappeared from video games like FIFA. Months later he was arrested again for trying to contact the complainant.

It was in February last year that Manchester Police dropped all charges against Greenwood - a prosecution spokesman said this was due to the withdrawal of a key witness. However, the suspension of the criminal proceedings did not allow him to rejoin the United team and he continued training alone.

With a current contract, the Red Devils decided to find a way out for him and Getafe assumed a part of the player's salary and placed himself under the command of José Bordalás. At a sporting level, he is one of the fittest attackers in the championship, along with his teammate Borja Mayoral, top scorer in the League (with the same goals as Bellingham himself and Artem Dovbyk). An undisputed starter, Greenwood has scored four goals (two more in the Cup) and provided four assists.
