German footballer Agyemang Diawusie dies at 25

German football is mourning the death of Agyemang Diawusie, a 25-year-old player of Ghanaian origin. The SSV Jahn Regensburg of the German third division, the club in which the footballer played until now, confirmed this Wednesday the “tragic event” on social networks.

“The Jahn family is in mourning and their thoughts are with Agyemang’s family, relatives, close friends and colleagues. Due to the terrible situation and out of respect for his family, we ask that his privacy be respected,” expresses the German team through its official website.

The causes of the forward's death are unknown, although various German media such as 'BR24' suggest that the footballer could have died for "natural" reasons, without any anomaly. Diawusie played a match for the last time on November 4 against 1860 Munich, a match in which he played 39 minutes on the field, being replaced by one of his teammates.

Agyemang Diawusie complained that day of breathing problems after the match, according to the newspaper Mittelbayerische Zeitung. However, there is no evidence that this feeling has any relationship with the sudden death days later of the international footballer in the German under-15 and under-19 categories.

The German player grew up as a footballer in Regensburg's own academy, his last club, and became a soldier at RB Leipzig, a club that has also shown its condolences for the player's death.

Teams such as Wiesbaden, Ingolstadt, Dresden, Ried and Bayreuth have made up the footballer's short career. This past summer he ended up at Regensburg, where he had played a total of 16 games this season until the announcement of his death.
