Galtier criticizes the protests in front of the houses of his players: "Society has gone crazy"

The PSG coach, Christophe Galtier, has avoided commenting on the rumors that point to the departure of two of its stars, Leo Messi and Neymar, from the club, and has strongly criticized the protests that are taking place outside their homes by a group of Parisian ultras.

The World Cup champion was suspended by the club this week after he missed training to make a promotional trip to Saudi Arabia. According to the French press, the punishment will be two weeks without playing or exercising with the rest of the group.

Galtier limited himself to saying that the club informed him that Messi had been suspended and refused to say if he supported the decision. “I didn't have to make the decision,” the coach said. "I was informed of the decision." "I am an employee of the club, if a decision is made, I will not comment on it," he declared.

Asked if he thinks he can count on the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner to return to the pitch after the suspension, Galtier was cautious: "We'll see when Leo returns what will happen. Obviously there will be discussions with the whole club but also with Leo, who is the main person involved.”

The discontent of the fans has also spread to other players and a few dozen fans went to Bougival on Wednesday to protest at the gates of Neymar's mansion, an act repudiated by PSG and by Galtier himself.

"It is unacceptable -said the coach- that there are people who go to Neymar's or another player's home. Things can get out of hand and we are already living in turbulent times. Society has gone crazy".

According to the French press, the management of Paris Saint Germain (PSG) wants to get rid of the Brazilian striker -out for the rest of the season due to injury-, who in 2017 became the most expensive player in football history, by going through 222 million euros from Barcelona to the Parisian club. Galtier said he did not know if Neymar will continue at the club next season, despite the fact that he has a contract until 2027: "I am focused on the five remaining games (in the league) and we will see what happens next season."
