Donnarumma, about the assault suffered at his home: "I was terrified"

Days after suffering a terrible assault at his home and with fear still in his body, PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma recounts the anguish he and his partner experienced when a group of robbers broke into their home this week. The Italian soccer player traveled to Japan on Saturday along with the rest of the PSG squad for the pre-season tour of the Asian country. Before, he opened up in 'Libero' about the terrifying minutes they lived during the assault on his house.

“I was very afraid, and even more for Alessia. She was afraid that something would happen to her. He was defenseless, tied up, he couldn't do anything, ”he recalls. Donnarumma recounts her concern that the robbers not hurt her partner: “It was her, very scared, who was with them. He was terrified that they might hurt her. I was immobilized immediately and Alessia was forced to give away everything we had. It's the worst feeling you can have."

Donnarumma explains that his language problems further complicated the robbery: "I don't speak French very well and it was difficult to explain to these people where the things they were looking for were." The Italian goalkeeper explained that while the police were collecting evidence, they had to go to a hotel: “I cannot go into too much detail as the investigation is ongoing. On Friday morning, my fiancée and I had to leave our apartment to allow investigations to take place and temporarily stayed in a hotel."

At gunpoint four men kidnapped, assaulted and robbed Gianluigui Donnarumma and his partner at their home in Paris. The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. this Friday and is one more in the long list of attacks on the homes of the Paris Saint-Germain footballers.

The group of men tied the couple up inside their apartment on avenue Montaigne, an upmarket neighborhood in the 8th arrondissement of the French capital. They took watches, jewelry and leather goods (all valued at approximately half a million euros) and then escaped from the place, according to police reports collected by AFP.
