Carolina Marín, All England champion

The Spanish Carolina Marín has been crowned All England champion for the second time in her career after beating the Japanese Akane Yamaguchi, the fourth-ranked player in the world, in the final.

The Huelva native won with a great game in the first set, 26 to 24, but in the second the Japanese had to retire due to injury, giving the title to Carolina Marín.

The Spanish, fifth player in the world, was looking for her second title this Sunday in the prestigious All England, where she already triumphed in 2015, after eliminating the Taiwanese Tai Tzu Ying, number 3 in the ranking, in the semifinals, whom she easily beat by 21 -13 and 21-12 after 46 minutes of the game.

This victory allowed him to fight for the oldest badminton tournament played in Birmingham (United Kingdom). A duel that Marín won over the Japanese Yagabuchi, whom he has already beaten in ten of the seventeen games they have faced each other, although they had never met in a final before.
