Alcaraz - Rune schedule today at Wimbledon 2023 | Where to watch the tennis quarterfinals live on TV

Carlos Alcaraz seeks glory at Wimbledon. The Murcian tennis player defeated the Italian Matteo Berrettini (3-6, 6-3, 6-3 and 6-3) and qualified for the quarterfinals for the first time in his early career. On his way to the title, he will face the Danish Holger Rune, who defeated the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 3-6, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (4) and 6-3.

Rune, seeded sixth in the tournament, meets the forecasts and advances to the quarterfinals, despite the fact that his baggage on grass was nil before this year. The Dane appeared three weeks ago at Queen's without a victory on grass and here at Wimbledon he has already won four matches.

The Murcian and the Dane, who have known each other since they were ten years old and played doubles together with twelve at Les Petit As, officially met at the Next Gen Finals, with victory for Alcaraz, and at the Masters 1,000 in Paris-Bercy last year, when the Spaniard suffered an abdominal injury that forced him to miss the ATP Finals and the Davis Cup.

Rune assures that the tennis player from El Palmar is still the same as when they were children, "but much better". And he expects a tough game.

After his victory against Berrettini, Alcaraz says that "he is ready for anything" at Wimbledon: "I knew it was going to be very difficult, he is a great player and he finished here. He was playing very well. It is not easy to come back after losing the first set, but I knew my opportunities would come if I was focused, if I didn't lose my mind. I've worked for it."

The Wimbledon quarterfinal match between Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune will be played this Wednesday, July 12, starting at 3:45 p.m. The meeting can be seen on television on Movistar and can also be followed live on the La Vanguardia website.
