The Aemet warns with its weather forecast: "the heat will increase"

The heat gives a breather, although for a short time. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), a general drop in maximum and minimum temperatures is expected for this Tuesday in most of Spain. This drop will be notable in the interior northeast and in the Mediterranean area. In the northern half, the environment will be even cool for the season.

However, in the final stretch of this week "the heat will tighten again", anticipates the Aemet spokesman, Rubén Del Campo, who has stressed that, regarding rainfall, it will be "very scarce", except for some light rains in the Bay of Biscay and storms in the north and east of the peninsula, locally strong and accompanied by hail and wind.

On Tuesday the drop in temperatures will be notable in the Mediterranean regions, due to the loss of strength of the "dry and overheated" west winds. In the rest of the country, the day will be cool for the season in the northern half, with areas between 5 and 10 degrees below normal.

In A Coruña, they will not exceed 23 degrees. In San Sebastián, the maximum will be 21. Zaragoza and Madrid will barely reach 30 degrees; the warmest environment will be in the southern half where Córdoba, Seville and Murcia will oscillate between 35-37 degrees, after several days exceeding 40 in some points.

On Wednesday there will be an almost general rise in temperatures, except in the southeast of the peninsula. Also cool in parts of the northern half, especially the lows such as León, Burgos, Palencia or Lugo that will even drop below 10 degrees at dawn.

Starting in the middle of the week, the rise will be progressive. On Thursday 34 degrees are expected in the Ebro, Tagus, Guadiana and Guadalquivir valleys, and even 36 degrees locally. They will also rise in the northern, central and eastern half of the peninsula, notably in Navarra and the upper Ebro.

During those days, it will be difficult to fall asleep again, because the nights will once again be torrid on the shores of the Mediterranean, with lows between 20 and 25 degrees.

As of Friday, the heat will increase. According to the forecast of the state agency, it will be intense in the southern half of the peninsula, with records above 40 degrees.
