The PSPV denounces that Vox changes the Women's Leadership Forum for a day of values

The spokesperson for the Municipal Socialist Group in the Valencia City Council, Sandra Gómez, has denounced that the Government team of Mayor María José Catalá has replaced the Women's Leadership Forum with the 'Leadership with Values' conference that will be inaugurated by the Vox deputy Carlos Flores Juberias. The socialists have recalled that the Vox parliamentarian in Congress was convicted, many years ago, of mistreating his former wife.

As reported by the City Council in a statement, the opening of the day will be given by Ignacio Varona García, secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Stock Market and Financial Studies Foundation (FEBF) -where the meeting is held-, whose words will precede the inaugural conference on 'Constitutional values and their impact on leadership', given by the professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Valencia Carlos Flores Juberías.

In the same statement, the City Council points out that the objective is "to create a framework for dialogue, coordination and collaboration with the different social and economic agents and with public organizations and the private sector, to promote 21st century leadership and reflect on the principles and values inspiring new leaderships".

For the socialist spokesperson, the changes introduced are “extremely serious” that “reveal the absolute contradiction and lies that Catalá supports.” Gómez recalled that the Women's Leadership Forum was “aimed at promoting empowerment and entrepreneurship and improving the capabilities and skills of women within the workplace.”

Gómez regretted that Catalá "has destroyed this forum directed by and for women and in its place is going to hold a forum that will inaugurate a person convicted of sexist violence." Thus, he has stated that it is “an insult to the victims of gender violence that a recognized and convicted abuser is responsible for inaugurating a forum that, of course, has nothing to do with the promotion of capabilities and equality.” .
