The president of the PSC municipal group in Badalona (Barcelonès Nord), Fernando Carrera, denounced this Monday what he considers to be a paralysis of the PP municipal government. Proof of this, he assures, is the lack of tenders for a month and a half. For his part, the PP executive denies such statements and replies that "the previous government left the Public Road Area" empty, without any contract in force, which is why the current executive has had to initiate all the procedures.
"Right now the mayor's office has been transferred to the municipal company Badalona Cultura, the company in charge of bidding for the May or Christmas Festivals. This is the government's only concern," Carrera assured. Furthermore, the PSC has denounced that the year of transformation that Albiol has so much trumpeted is not being noticed on the streets of Badalona. "Even in nine months they have not been able to put out to tender the service of school agents in the city's educational centers."
"Unlike the previous government" that formed a four-party government led by socialist mayor Ruben Guijarro, several contracts are in the pipeline, such as street cleaning, and the maintenance of escalators and elevators is in the final process. Along the same lines, they announce that "the city lighting maintenance contract will soon be published" and others such as the soil and subsoil management contract. The purchase of containers and postal services and the purchase of motorcycles and cars for the Urban Police "which will arrive in the coming weeks" have been unraveled and they conclude: "the works on Veneçuela Street have begun and the purchase of the grass on the field is being put out to tender of Montigala".
Carrera, however, considers that the government is in absolute paralysis, without any direction, and with little desire to unravel urgent city issues." Badalona, where the only contract in tender for the entire year 2024 is not from any management service, but from the General Intervention.
