The most ingenious puns (or not) of this electoral campaign

With 28-M just around the corner, the campaign teams of the political parties do not hesitate to use all their artillery to capture the maximum number of votes during the electoral campaign. To boost the candidacies, humor and originality are classics to attract attention and stand out from the competition. And it is that, often, these campaigns are also a focus of memes for users on social networks.

"Facts, not Miracles". Thus, with a simple play on words, the PP propaganda poster for Toledo in these 2023 municipal elections has gone viral.

With the image of its competition at its side, the Popular Party has taken advantage of the name of the PSOE candidate to create a slogan with a double meaning but easy to capture.

This is not the only poster that during this year's municipal elections is using a recurring play on words as an electoral campaign strategy. In Sabadell, the candidate of the commons, Joan Mena, is presented to the municipal elections under the motto "una altra mena de ciutat", which translated into Catalan means "another type of city".

Another curious example is the one created by the PSOE for its candidacy in Segovia, which, inspired by Shakira's famous wink in her session with Bizarrap, "clearly", has managed to be on the lips of all the residents.

Although these posters have been highly commented on social networks, they have not overshadowed the propaganda images from other years that are still remembered.

The 2019 case of the PP candidate in the Lanzarote municipality of Tías, Pancho Hernández, who used the slogan "Centered on Tías" for the last elections on May 26, is famous. This striking phrase, with a double meaning, generated a multitude of reactions on social networks, which, luckily, did not go beyond comedy.

And two that have already gone down in history cannot be forgotten: "El trabuco que tú quieres", from the PSOE in the Malaga town of Villanueva del Trabuco, or "Vota con un PAR" from the Alicante Regionalist Party, (which as a result of the his party's acronym creates the slogan).
