The golden age of hypochondriacs

These times are fabulous. And I would say even more: they are exciting. There is not a day that a minor fact cannot be turned into a disease, a syndrome, a diagnosis, an emotional disturbance...

They have changed our time. Like every year. Sunday, Lord's day and the droperia. Thanks to the change, it gets dark later and people want to stay late, meet their girlfriends or ask for a tanda on the beaches of Levant.

-You don't know what you're talking about!

Apparently it's all cons, jeremiads and whores with the change.

They appear in the specialist and expert media – always altruistic, of course – who take us out of blissful ignorance. Changing the time is a state crime!

Thus, the Spanish Sleep Society - not to be confused with the Orfeó Donostiarra - warns that the time adjustment causes "insufficient, disorganized and poor quality sleep", which can favor the appearance of diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer's , hypertension, obesity, diabetes, heart attack, stroke, depression and anxiety...

(Good thing it doesn't increase the chances of Real Madrid winning the fifteenth European Cup!)

How can you enjoy the afternoon, the walk with your girlfriend or the illusion of your first swim in the sea when we are threatened by disorders, minor ailments and incurable ailments? Maybe the Spanish Sleep Society doesn't know better than us what is good for health? How can we live in inopia so many citizens of citizenship?

First of all, I will no longer say in public that it is nice to see the extension of the light, lest I offend a gentleman or lady with sleep disorders, deserving of due empathy.

Thanks to scientific progress, one has the right – and almost the obligation – to get sick so that the clocks go back an hour, or to return from vacation depressed, sexually despondent and lazy at work because one is a victim of the vacation syndrome and not of a nose that steps on it.

Good times for hypochondria! And to make us feel that we are not made or ready to enjoy life...
