Sumar sees it as reasonable that the PSOE does not want to summon prosecutors to the Koldo case commission

The exclusion of judges and prosecutors as appearing in the investigative commission of the Koldo case continues to give rise to talk 96 hours before the first session scheduled for Monday and, known yesterday, the rejection that, through the mouth of several ministers, was made official by the socialist half of the Executive, Sumar has called such positioning "reasonable."

In statements in Congress, its spokesperson, Íñigo Errejón, has confirmed that Sumar will not oppose the agreement that the PSOE and its parliamentary partners may reach regarding the appearance of the chief anti-corruption prosecutor, Alejandro Luzón, but has justified that there are precedents to defend the opposite, as EH Bildu and Junts have defended.

In that sense, the Basque party has indicated to EFE that the socialists have not yet asked them to reject Luzón's appearance and indicate that the parliamentary group is "not even" evaluating it yet. "They have gotten themselves into this mess by themselves," they say about the clash experienced within the PSOE between their parliamentary group and the Ministers of Justice and Defense, Félix Bolaños and Margarita Robles, respectively.

While those of Carles Puigdemont have chosen not to speak out until next Monday, April 22, when the commission receives its first appearances, the president of the Court of Accounts, Enriqueta Chicano, and the former Minister of Health Salvador Illa.

In total there are three prosecutors summoned to testify. The prosecutor of the European Public Prosecutor's Office, Ignacio de Lucas, the chief prosecutor of the European Public Prosecutor's Office, Laura Codruta Kövesi, and the aforementioned Luzón. And their exclusion, although taken for granted, will not be automatic.

In the event that both EH Bildu and Junts insist on maintaining their appearances, the PSOE would have to rely, in addition to Sumar, on the Popular Party. Who does share a position with the socialists in this section.

In fact, there is the option that the commission table, where there would be a majority of PSOE and PP, never summons these prosecutors even if they are included in the approved list.
