Sánchez gets the highest support from the Valencian, Canarian and Basque affiliates

A total of 95,365 members of the PSOE endorsed Pedro Sánchez's government and investiture pacts in the consultation with affiliates that culminated on Saturday. This figure represents 87.13% of the militants who exercised the right to vote, in a consultation that had a participation of 63.41% of the total census, which are 172,611 members, according to the data provided yesterday by the management federal of the PSOE, with 99% of the scrutiny.

13,053 members of the PSOE (11.93%) voted, on the other hand, against these agreements of Sánchez, singularly for the amnesty for those accused of the process that is just being negotiated with Junts. The final result of the consultation, however, means broad support from the affiliates for their leader, as Sánchez already predicted when he called for this internal ratification process.

But the regionalized breakdown of the scrutiny of the consultation, published yesterday by Ferraz, offers a map of the more or less broad support for Sánchez among the main PSOE federations, those with the most affiliates.

At the head of this support for Sánchez is the Valencian Community, the federation led by Ximo Puig, where 10,885 militants (92.72%) voted yes. The Canary Islands, the federation led by Ángel Víctor Torres, stood out in second place, with 3,481 members (91.01%) who voted in favor. Third place went to Euskadi, the federation led by Eneko Andueza. Up to 3,214 Basque socialists (90.18%) opted for yes to Sánchez's pacts.

The result of the consultation in Andalusia, the federation led by Juan Espadas and which, with 43,610 members, is the largest in Spain, was also very relevant. Up to 25,226 Andalusian militants (88.28% of those who voted) seconded these agreements. And only 3,158 members (11.05%) spoke against it.

At the opposite pole was Castile-La Mancha, the federation led by Emiliano García-Page, the only socialist regional president with an absolute majority and who is radically against the amnesty. Up to 1,368 affiliates in this federation, 19.81% of those who voted, decided against Sánchez's agreements, with the highest percentage of nos in all PSOE federations. However, in Castilla-La Mancha, yes also won, as 5,426 members voted in favor, 78.57% of those who exercised the right to vote.

Page knows that his position against the amnesty is in the minority in the PSOE as a whole. But the scrutiny of the consultation also shows that the majority of his federation does not share this position or that, at least, it was a priority for Sánchez to get re-elected as president of the Spanish Government.

Yes won in all the federations of the PSOE, and the PSC, by a very large majority. Also in Aragon, where its leader, Javier Lambán, shares with Page the total rejection of the amnesty. But 2,818 Aragonese members, 82.35% of those who voted, chose to support Sánchez.
