Sánchez bets on the youth vote and announces 1.3 billion for the FP

During this intense pre-campaign of 28-M, Pedro Sánchez wants to take the political initiative and impose his agenda on Alberto Núñez Feijóo, who the socialists see as "a rejection" of all the initiatives of the president of the central government. And it does so with a clear commitment to the social agenda as a major electoral poster. To his successive announcements to increase the public housing stock in Spain, as a claim for the young vote, the leader of the PSOE yesterday added another relevant proposal in the field of professional training (FP) that he announced during the meeting that starred in Pamplona.

Sánchez assured that the best way to reduce youth unemployment, which remains one of the main problems of the labor market in Spain, is to bet on strengthening education, university and, singularly, professional training, to align it with the change in the production model that ensured that it is being promoted with reindustrialization projects thanks to European funds. And he announced that the Council of Ministers, which will be held on Wednesday, will approve an injection of more than 1.3 billion euros to strengthen "even more" the FP.

The President of the Central Government remarked that 6,600 million euros have already been invested during this legislature and the Vocational Training law has been approved. And with these new 1,300 million, he explained, the number of bilingual VET places will increase by 45,000 and create 824 new digital training centers and more than 1,500 classrooms for applied technology and entrepreneurship, which are 50% more than there are currently , "so that our boys leave FP with all the qualifications to work and, why not, to be able to create a company". "This is the future!", he shouted amid applause.

"We are creating more and better jobs, but we are not satisfied, we can create more", they point out to the Executive. "And the best tool is to bet on a quality FP, like the most advanced countries in Europe. And that's why we will make the biggest bet for FP that any government has ever made", they emphasize.

Sánchez insisted on underlining his commitment to increase the public housing stock with affordable rents in Spain, especially to facilitate the emancipation of young people. And, in front of the PP Land law, which was translated into the era of the urban pelotazo, he positioned his housing policy as a "great national objective".

The leader of the PSOE took the lead in a rally in front of 1,200 supporters in Pamplona, precisely one of the capitals that the PSOE has in its electoral target for the 28-M. Navarre's president, María Chivite, who is running for the re-election, and the socialist candidate for the mayor of Pamplona, Elma Saiz, until now Minister of Economy and Finance of the Government of Navarre, who aspires to oust the current mayor, Enrique Maya, who in 2019 regained his position at the head of the Navarra Suma list, made up of UPN, the PP and Citizens, now broken. Saiz also aims to block Maya's predecessor as mayor, Joseba Asiron, of EH Bildu. And, for this reason, he defended his candidacy against "independence and the right".
