Santa Coloma will build more than 500 sheltered homes

Santa Coloma will build more than 500 sheltered homes

The last full session of the Santa Coloma de Gramenet City Council approved the collaboration agreement with the Metropolitan Institute of Land Promotion (Imsol), the promoter company of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), for promote the construction in this city of 420 protected flats. This fulfills the provisions of the current Local Housing Plan, which also includes 111 more subsidized apartments for rent, which add up to a total of 531 new flats.

To promote these homes, "the alliance between administrations is essential", recognizes the mayor of Santa Coloma, Núria Parlon. The agreement with the AMB makes it possible to give the promised impetus to have new sheltered housing, primarily for rent.

Parlon details that "we are working on other actions, both affordable housing and building rehabilitation", and deploying campaigns for the rehabilitation or new promotions of endowment flats, "such as those intended for elderly people" that already work in the old Miguel Hernández school or those being built in the Oliveres neighborhood for young people. Parlon defends that "the conversion of commercial premises to homes is also bearing fruit".

What for the mayoress is one of the priority lines of the mandate, access to public housing, takes shape in all the neighborhoods of the city. Through the public company Gramepark, sheltered housing is created. In various areas of the city, Impsol will build 107 flats on four different lots, with a cost exceeding 580,000 euros. In the area of ​​the Fondo neighborhood, 170 homes are being built (98 for sale) on Carrer Sant Pasqual; in Carrer Júlia Romera Yáñez, 56 more for rent, as in Plaça Alfons Comín, where there will be 38 flats. 168 homes for rent and 24 for sale will be built in the area of ​​the Raval River Front on Avinguda Generalitat and Carrer Joaquim Talavera. In the neighborhood of Singuerlín, there will be 27 protected homes for sale in a building on Carrer Enric Granados. All this adds up to 420 new sheltered homes in Santa Coloma, 271 of which (65%) will be allocated to affordable rent and the remaining 35% (149) for sale.

In the same way, the specific modification of the Metropolitan General Plan (PGM) is being processed to build 111 new subsidized homes, all for rent, which increase to 531 the new flats provided for in the Local Housing Plan during this mandate. Of these endowment flats, 48 ​​have already been built for the elderly at the old Miguel Hernández school.

They are also about to award the 16 endowment flats on a rental basis for young people up to 36 years old in the es Oliveres neighborhood, at 66 de la Font de l'Alzina road, a building owned by the City Council of Santa Coloma. All will be awarded under a rental scheme with official protection to young people or cohabitation units that, meeting the conditions and requirements to be able to be applicants for this type of subsidized housing, are registered in the register of Housing applicants Official Protection of Catalonia.

This latest promotion is intended for homes for one or two people and has an area of ​​51 m2 to 54 m2 with a balcony. Each house has an open area made up of the dining room, kitchen, a double bedroom, a toilet and a balcony. The contract is established for seven years and the rental price will be the result of calculating the useful meters for the module price of the general scheme, which is set at 7.5 euros/m2.
