All the political forces represented in the Parliament of Catalonia voted in favor of the motion presented by the parliamentary group of En Comú Podem, to promote social and economic improvements in the neighborhoods of Baix Besòs, which make up five metropolitan municipalities (Badalona, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Sant Adrià de Besòs, Montcada and Reixac and the Barcelona districts of Nou Barris, Sant Martí and Sant Andreu) which add up to a population of one million inhabitants.
The parliamentary groups consider the territory of Baix Besòs as a priority axis for public investment, historically in deficit, and ask the Generalitat for greater commitment in the development of the Besòs Agenda and to increase resources in these neighborhoods.
The motion recognizes the leadership of the municipalities, their social fabric and the Coordinadora de Veïns i Veïnes del Baix Besòs, the Consortium of Besòs and the Metropolitan Area (AMB) and their effort to alleviate the effects of a historical lack of urban planning , without an overall territorial vision.
With this, the Parliament urges the Generalitat to promote a Neighborhood Plan in the Besòs axis in order to influence the urban, environmental and social improvement of the neighborhoods and cities, with a "significant public investment to alleviate social, economic inequalities and infrastructures that suffer" point from En Comú Podemos.
The motion calls for reception and educational plans in Baix Besòs as a tool for social cohesion and financing to alleviate homelessness, with which it would be necessary to offer housing alternatives to people living on the streets, settlements and in substandard housing. In this sense, they demand speed in the planning of social housing.
Along the same lines, they ask to present the investments for the territorial programming of specialized social services, promote new residences for the elderly and invest in educational centers, among other aspects, without forgetting a public health plan focused on air quality, increasing the measurement points.
Aïda Llauradó, councilor of En Comú Podem in the Badalona City Council, as one of the promoters of the motion, details that "the municipalities claim the investments that the Generalitat owes us" for this reason, they propose measures to combat social, economic and social inequalities. infrastructures suffered by the territory. "From Badalona we will insist whatever is necessary for this change to take place," she says.
