Fulfilling the commitment to attract as little attention as possible, King Juan Carlos spent the second day yesterday in Sanxenxo, between the sea and the land. In the morning, with his fellow crew members, he went sailing on board the Bribón in order to train for the World Championship of the 6M modality that will be held this summer on the English Isle of Wight. At noon he returned to the marina and from there to Pedro Campos' house, where he is staying. On all trips, the king sits in the co-pilot seat of an all-terrain vehicle and waves when he passes, but without lowering the window. As the trip suggested, the King's father doesn't hide but he doesn't show off either. This is his decision to ensure future trips and, above all, to reduce media attention until his occasional presence in Spain stops creating controversy.
King Joan Carles is scheduled to continue training today and participate in the Spanish Championship on Saturday and Sunday ahead of the summer's international competition. The previous head of state with El Bribón was proclaimed world champion in 2017 in the tests that took place in Vancouver (Canada), a title that he revalidated in 2019 in Helsinki (Finland) and that this year he wants to return to get to the English island, where, by the way, his grandmother Queen Victoria Eugenia spent her childhood.
