King Juan Carlos, who arrived in Sanxenxo on Wednesday, has decided to extend his stay in Spain and postpone his return to Abu Dhabi with another trip aimed at visiting his doctors. Yesterday, shortly after six in the afternoon, the plane that had already taken him from Abu Dhabi to London and from the British capital to Vigo, took off at the Galician airport in the direction of Vitoria, where he landed at seven in the afternoon.
Since it was a private trip, there is no information about the reason for the trip, but upon arriving in Vitoria, King Juan Carlos went directly to the dental clinic of Dr. Eduardo Anintua, who, like traumatologist Mikel Sánchez, they have already visited it several times.
Dr. Mikel Sánchez is a specialist in the field of traumatology and currently heads the arthroscopic surgery unit at the Vithas San José hospital. The dentist Eduardo Anitua is also a trusted doctor for the king emeritus, to whose dental clinic (which bears his name) he has visited on several occasions.
Sánchez and Anitua are, in addition to partners and researchers, personal friends of the former head of state, and together or accompanied by other people have shared with King Juan Carlos, especially after he abdicated, gastronomic excursions through the Basque Country and La Rioja . It is not ruled out that on this occasion they will also share the table and the food that the king emeritus likes so much, which, according to his own confession, is what he misses most in Abu Dhabi. Despite everything, the dental treatment received by King Juan Carlos can make the gastronomic operation difficult.
Of the two purposes that King Juan Carlos had during his stay in Sanxenxo, he was only able to fulfill one: to keep a low profile and have privacy. In terms of sport, his plans have not been fulfilled, as adverse weather conditions prevented him from continuing with training on Friday and competing on board the Bribón on Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, the probable rough seas advised against his participation in the second and last regatta of the II Volvo Autesa Club, as had happened on Saturday, in order to avoid possible nautical accidents, given his mobility problems .
If no other problems arise after this trip, King Juan Carlos plans to return to Sanxenxo in the second week of June, once again to haggle.
