Feijóo only believes that he can understand himself with Sánchez in the fight against sexist violence

On the international day for the elimination of violence against women, the president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, makes an exception to the impossibility of understanding between the President of the Government and the main opposition party, sexist violence. The leader of the PP does not take back the categorical phrase that he uttered during Pedro Sánchez's investiture debate: "When the independence movement abandons you, don't look for me." He had said it after hearing how the candidate, then, placed the PP "on the other side of the wall", from what the president considered non-democratic parties, such as Vox.

"When the independence movement abandons him, he should not look for me," he reiterated this Friday, "but to fight against sexist violence, he will always have me." For this reason, Alberto Núñez Feijóo asks Pedro Sánchez to "leave a gap in the wall he wants to build and establish bridges to find us in this fight because he will find us."

Núñez Feijóo is in favor of recovering the 2017 state pact and asks Pedro Sánchez to "rehabilitate it" and to agree to improve it, given the years that have passed. But above all, the president of the PP asks the Government to "return to the state pacts and not to break unity on this matter again."

He believes that it is possible now, that he has left the Ministry of Equality Podemos, but asks Pedro Sánchez that "equality and the fight against gender violence become a priority again, "not an internal and external battlefield of the Government." nor a "focus of controversies between ministries."

Alberto Núñez Feijóo and the PP are trying to avoid being placed on the side of those who do not condemn gender violence. In fact, all the municipal and regional governments led by the PP have held institutional events on the occasion of the international day against sexist violence, including those where they govern with Vox, such as in Valencia, where Carlos Mazón has managed to get the advisors from Abascal's party, despite the instructions they had received from Vox to boycott these events.

In Madrid, Feijóo shared the stage with a victim of sexist violence, a police officer, a social worker and the spokesperson for the Anar Foundation. There, after listening to the testimonies of the protagonists, the president of the PP proposed several measures that in his opinion can help fight against this scourge.

Educate in equality in educational centers and train teachers. Promote greater awareness among young people, to reverse the escalation of violence among those under 18 years of age. Analyze the means and perfect the technology used to control penalties, security and precautionary measures to keep away aggressors. Examine the means of supporting victims and reinforce them when necessary and facilitate access in the areas required during the criminal procedure.

Feijóo also proposed that public administrations appear in trials when murders are involved and provide greater resources to the specialized units of the National Police and the Civil Guard to reduce the incidence.
