ERC "welcomes" the negotiation with Puigdemont

Restraint was imposed on Esquerra yesterday. They "welcomed" the route negotiated at Junts, with some derision, but without adding any fuel to the fire. President Pere Aragonès and Raquel Sans, spokesperson for the Republicans, were in charge of externalizing their party's satisfaction with an agreement that, in their opinion, corroborates the dialogue strategy. "They are late, but they have arrived", they limited themselves to pointing out party sources. ERC, in turn, welcomes the fact that the process to forge an amnesty law is moving forward.

Only his deputy secretary for internal coordination, Oriol López, went off the script: "We congratulate those who for five years declared that making an agreement was the work of traitors." Or Joan Tardà, even if he is currently only a member of the national council: "Together, Puigdemont, you do know about it, and not like the botiflers of ERC".

Nothing more, despite the fact that "open a new stage" or "resolve the conflict", for example, are two of the expressions included in the preamble of the pact between the PSOE and Junts that Esquerra considers to have been borrowed by the post-convergents for their own agreement . They are from 2020, when ERC facilitated the investiture of Pedro Sánchez in exchange for the dialogue table.

Be that as it may, the Republicans sealed their agreement for the current investiture on Thursday and were looking forward to possible new developments in the text worked on between the Socialists and, mainly by JxCat, Carles Puigdemont.

"No surprises", affirms, once the document has been read, the party of Oriol Junqueras, which applauds at the same time that Junts has joined the dialogue as a mechanism to resolve "the political conflict". "Welcome to the negotiation strategy, which proves to be useful for moving forward" Catalonia, they concluded. Sans was now confident that ERC and Junts can coordinate in Madrid to force agreements in the future legislature of Pedro Sánchez.

Equally, ERC believes that with the two agreements - between the PSOE and the Republicans and between the PSOE and the post-convergents - political independence is erected "in a retaining wall to block the passage of the Spanish reactionary forces", in al· hope for an electoral repeat, which would have meant a new opportunity for the PP to get the central government.
