Albiol will approve the portfolio with his future government the week after being invested

The head of the PP list in Badalona (Barcelona), Xavier García Albiol, has announced that he intends to shortly approve the municipal portfolio with the future city government that in all probability will preside over the week after his inauguration as mayor, scheduled for June 17.

As explained on Tuesday by the Badalona PP in a statement, the approval of the municipal portfolio for the 2023-2027 term will take place the week of June 19 to 25, and the new executive will start working just a few days later. On Saturday, June 17 at 12:00 noon, the constitution plenary session of the new town hall will be held, in which Albiol will most likely be sworn in as mayor.

The PP won the municipal elections last Sunday with 18 councilors and 55.73% of the votes, two thirds of a plenary session made up of 27 councilors, which will allow Xavier Garcia Albiol to recover the mayoralty that he has already led twice before and rule comfortably for four years.

The new government of Badalona will be made up solely of the PP councillors, of which the formation highlights that they combine previous experience in municipal management as well as new incorporations that come from the professional world with extensive experience.

"The new Government of Badalona will get to work immediately because we are very clear about the needs of the city's residents and many of them must be addressed urgently", Albiol stated.

The one who in all probability will be mayor has assured that Badalona "begins a new term and will have the institutional stability that the residents have given us at the polls" and also "the maximum stability and efficiency within the City Council to manage the city and improve the day to the day of the neighbors".
