The pianist and composer Chano Domínguez does not know how to sit still artistically speaking, and a new proof of this restlessness has been demonstrated with the new Play Petrucciani project.
As its name suggests, it is a homage-tribute to the work and person of the French pianist Michel Petrucciani, a prodigious keyboard technician who died in 1999 at the age of 37. There will be an opportunity to enjoy it today in a double pass at
at the Barcelona Milano Jazz Club (8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.)
For this Play Petrucciani, the Cádiz-born Domínguez has formed a musical joint-venture with the Italian trumpeter Flavio Boltro, another specialist who gives everything on stage and who experiences jazz as an indispensable fluid to share with the listener. He was also part of the cast of musicians who supported Petrucciani in the last seven years of his career and life. For his part, Chano Domínguez has included reinterpretations of the songs of the disappeared musician in some of his records.
Chano Domínguez has proposed this proposal based on a repertoire in which there are referential pieces by the tributed pianist, to which he has added some of his and Boltro's compositions.
So that everything reaches the foreseeable excellent port, the duet has the backing of a great guarantee offered by Martín Leiton (double bass) and Michael Olivera (drums).
