The maximum temperatures will rise today in most of the peninsula

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts that today, Sunday, stable and dry weather will prevail in much of the country, with maximum temperatures that will rise in most of the peninsula and will be significantly high in inland areas and Mallorca.

The skies will be slightly cloudy or with intervals of medium and high clouds in a large part of the country, with intervals of low morning clouds in areas of the eastern third of the peninsula and the Strait.

An Atlantic front will touch the extreme northwest of the peninsula and will leave probable rainfall in the northwest of Galicia, without ruling out the western Cantabrian Sea.

Cloudiness of daytime evolution will be recorded in the interior of the eastern third, without ruling out dry storms, which may occasionally be accompanied by precipitation in mountainous areas.

In the Canary Islands there will be intervals of low clouds in the north of the islands. In addition, the presence of haze is likely in the southeast of the peninsula and in the Balearic Islands, which will spread to the rest of the southeast half of the peninsula.

Morning mists or mists are not ruled out in areas of the interior of the Valencian Community and eastern Castilla La Mancha and in the Cantabrian mountain range. In the last hours, some fog or mist may also appear in the area of ​​the Strait and Alborán.

It is likely that 36/38 degrees will be reached in much of the interior of the southern, central and inland half of Mallorca, and 38/40 in the Guadalquivir and Ebro valleys.

In the minimum temperatures the ascents will predominate. In the Canary Islands they will have slight decreases, which will be more pronounced in the midlands, and they will blow trade winds, with strong intervals in the western islands that will tend to subside.

Winds from the west and southwest will prevail on the Atlantic and Cantabrian slopes and in the upper and middle Ebro. In the Mediterranean area the winds will be from the east and southeast.
