A large device made up of various emergency forces, police and volunteers is searching in Roda de Berà (Tarragona) for Mercedes A., 67, who has disappeared since yesterday morning in that Tarragona municipality, as reported by the town council.
The woman has been missing since seven in the morning yesterday, the time she left her house without taking her mobile phone with her. The family reported her disappearance hours later, upon verifying that she had not returned to her home.
The search device is made up of thirteen ground crews from the Generalitat Fire Department, a helicopter from this body, members of the canine unit and firefighters assisted by drones. Mossos, Local Police officers, Civil Protection officers from Roda de Berà and Torredembarra, as well as volunteers have also participated.
The Firefighters have indicated that the search has focused on the forest areas closest to Roda de Berà, and on roads, banks, tunnels and the side of the train track in the area between the Nacional-340, the AP- 7 and past the AVE railway line, to the north of the municipality.
Mossos sources, for their part, have reported that in the afternoon they participated in the search for the woman with a helicopter of the body together with local police and members of Civil Protection in a wooded area of the municipality.
