A young teacher is found dead in the trunk of a car in Los Angeles

A young school teacher was found dead this Wednesday inside a trunk of a vehicle in a house in Quart Hill. Firefighters found the girl's charred remains, according to US media.

The California city's county sheriff's department said agents received the alert around eight in the morning. Neighbors said they heard a woman screaming and an explosion just before the fire.

KCAL News spoke with a man who said he is the young schoolteacher's uncle. While she declined to share her identity, she said she was a quiet 27-year-old woman from Quartz Hill who taught elementary school in Palmdale. The school had called the family because she had not shown up for work.

The uncle said his niece had been in a romantic relationship for about a year. He didn't know much about the man.

Neighbors explained to the CBS channel that the victim's partner owned the house where the vehicle was located and that he rented rooms to several people. Investigators are still searching for the homeowner, who has not contacted authorities at this time.
