A 52-year-old man has died and a 56-year-old woman has been seriously injured this Sunday when she fell during a mountain crossing in Espot (Pallars Sobirà).
As reported by the Generalitat Fire Brigade, the accident occurred at Pic de Peguera when, according to witnesses who have called the emergency services, a couple fell on a sheet of ice.
The woman has fallen about 250 meters while the man has been dragged from a greater height. The couple is a neighbor of San Vicente de Castellet (Bages).
The notice was received at 12:56 p.m. and activated two units of the Special Actions Group (GRAE) of the Firefighters with a helicopter and a medical team, as well as four ground crews. The Medical Emergency System (SEM), which has assigned five units and a helicopter, has transferred the wound to the Sabadell Hospital with various traumas.
