A Madrid court has opened an investigation into a police agent after a complaint by a Femen activist for an alleged crime of sexual abuse after the agent grabbed her to try to separate her in some altercations at a demonstration on November 20.
The young woman, who was bare-chested, was seized by an agent who must now testify on Wednesday before the investigating court number 11 in Madrid, according to the order to which La Vanguardia has had access.
In the order for admission to processing, the instructor points out that the facts included in the complaint "present characteristics that make it possible to presume the possible existence of crime / s of sexual abuse whose investigation corresponds to this judicial body."
The judge has summoned the agent, from the UIP, once he has been identified and denies opening an investigation for allegedly covering his identification, once the court has verified that this was not the case.
In the complaint, the activist explains that at noon on November 20 of last year, Femen carried out a "symbolic and peaceful action" in the Plaza de Oriente in Madrid in front of a concentration organized by the Spanish Catholic Movement.
The action consisted of shouting "to fascism neither honor nor glory" and, as it is "the hallmark of this group, using the body, showing their claims in it."
According to the complaint, the action was going to be carried out by only three women, one of them the complainant. “The fact that this action has been repeated for several years in the same place must be highlighted, and it has always been intercepted by the police. It is obvious that this year the police anticipated the action and was prepared to abort it from the beginning”, he adds.
According to the activist, one of the agents grabbed her from behind "squeezing her breasts with both hands, which was obviously unnecessary for the arrest, abusing his position of superiority, and making use of his status as an agent of authority."
A few seconds later, his companions covered his torso with a jacket. After being identified, the three women were released, informing them that a sanction proposal was going to be made for a possible administrative infraction.
