The four climbers return to FitzRoy

They come back. The four climbers who were part of the first all-female group that attacked FitzRoy return. They return to Patagonia to reach the Silla de los Franceses and, there, stop before undertaking the final attack to the summit of FitzRoy, waiting for a window of good weather that will allow them to reach the top and descend again.

On that landing, the four women have time to love each other and fight, while they delight the public who will see them through a giant window in the Borràs theater that overlooks Patagonia.

The play FitzRoy, by Jordi Galceran, premiered last January at the theater in Plaza Urquinaona in Barcelona and, thanks to the success achieved, it now returns to the same room to be on this stage for five more weeks, which will once again be a success. , celebrated by a grateful public, who lives and is moved by these four intrepid climbers.

For the occasion, Sílvia Bel (who contributes her experience as a climber in her real life), Míriam Iscla and Sara Espígul repeat on the boards, while the youngest member of the group is now Mima Riera. Curiously, she was the actress who had to premiere the show, instead of Natalia Sánchez, who is the one who finally did it.

Bitò's production has been directed by Sergi Belbel, the playwright and director faithful to Galceran's works. In January, Belbel said that he felt privileged to be able to premiere Galceran's new work and said about the playwright: “He is an author who thinks about the viewer, about theatricality, and that is why he attends during the first week of rehearsals to adapt what that is missing from the text.” The director explains that “the piece is a well of small surprises, there is nothing crazy,” and considers that “FitzRoy is the most radical work that Jordi Galceran has written, because the hour and a half that the performance lasts is real, with no entry or exit from the stage.”

Galceran, who is the author of hits such as El mètode Grönholm and El crèdit, replies: If they leave the stage for a moment they fall off the cliff. They can only go up or down”, a dramaturgical game that is one of the successes of the show.
