Schwarzenegger praises an Albariño from Pontevedra: "You Spaniards know how to make a good wine"

"Also if it's 8:00 in the morning I'm going to have a glass of this wine before coffee and breakfast." The actor Arnold Schwarzenegger did not hesitate to open a bottle that chef José Andrés had previously sent him live on the Longer Tables podcast, and after trying it he had no choice but to admit: "Good wine, you Spaniards know exactly how to make good wine." .

José Andrés could not say the same about the Austrian beer that, in this exchange of gifts, the actor and former governor of the State of California had sent him. "Thanks to my friend @Arnold for the delicious Austrian beer… almost as good as Spanish wine!!", comments the Asturian chef in a video posted on his Twitter account.

Specifically, the wine that has conquered Schwarzenegger is made with Albariño grapes in Pontevedra, in the municipality of Meaño. It's called Sketch, it belongs to the D.O Rías Baixas and its low production of 1,500 bottles makes it one of the most sought-after white wines in Spain.

The curious thing about this wine is that it was originally made with a slight underwater aging, although in recent vintages it is only made residually and for bottles that are consumed internally in the winery, which are not for sale.

In addition to the Austrian beer that Schwarzenegger had given him, José Andrés tried live some Austrian Neapolitans that the actor had sent him: "Very typical," the Asturian chef snapped.
