Mark Sheehan, guitarist for Irish band 'The Script', dies at 46

Mark Sheehan, the guitarist and co-founder of the Irish rock band The Script, has died at the age of 46, as confirmed by the group itself on social networks. Sheehan was married with three children.

"Our loving husband, father, brother, band member and friend Mark Sheehan passed away today in the hospital after a brief illness," the band's post said. According to the aforementioned text, his relatives ask his followers to "respect his privacy at this tragic moment."

Mark Sheehan founded 'The Script' in 2001 with frontman and vocalist Danny O'Donoghue and drummer Glen Power. Some of his best known songs are 'Hall of Fame', 'Breakeven' and 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved'.

The band released their first album in 2008, releasing a total of six so far.

A year later, "The man who can't be moved" became quite an anthem, as the organizers of the "Victoria's Secret" fashion show chose it as the theme song for their show. And that same year they won Best Album at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards.

His music has appeared in video games and in the teen series 90210 and Waterloo Road, which marked a before and after in his popularity. And also, they acted as opening act for U2 and Paul McCartney, among others.
